Ear lobe piercing is a common cultural practice seen in India. Complete or partial tears are commonly seen in elderly females due to wearing heavy earrings for many years. Other possible reasons are sudden pull on earring by children or entanglement in telephone cords, clothes, poor piercing techniques or this can be congenital sometimes.
